BIE’S Stephanie Birdwell-Bighorn orders violations on freedom of speech ?

A scarey thing happened today, haskellnews has heard from BIE interior insiders that Stephanie Birdwell-Bighorn has told the IT dept to “locate the source” of haskellnews because she apparently does not agree that there are issues that need to be addressed.

I suggest Ms. Birdwell-Bighorn take a quick course in mass media communications.

Blogs are individual’s opinions. They are available in many venues and other individuals can post agreement or disagreement. You can post.

This country was founded on principals like freedom of speech.

Even with gag orders to your employees, those others of us can still voice opinions or more specifically we can ASK QUESTIONS and we will.

If you read these blogs you can see that not every one agrees with the facts we distribute.

A full-scale, independent investigation, perhaps from Justice or heck, even the White House, could quiet all the voices with facts.

Ms. Birdwell-Bighorn, the truth will set you free (to return to a job you are actually qualified to handle).

BIE, Birdwell-Bighorn, Skenandore, Tahleuemptewa, Stevens (and the rest of the old boys’ network) do not appear that eager to respond to Salazar and Echohawk.

Hopefully Tsosie will follow up; he seems up to the task if you believe his rally to the troops last week in Phoenix.

In the mean time we…. DO HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH THIS IS AMERICA , YOU CANNOT TAKE THAT AWAY FROM US MS. BIRDWELL- BIGHORN. I AM NOT SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO PUT A GAG ORDER ON YOUR EMPLOYEES EITHER, SOME OF US ARE LOOKING INTO THAT. DO YOU THINK BECAUSE YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF NATIVE AMERICANS THAT THEY HAVE NO RIGHTS ?..YOU ARE SADLY MISTAKEN. AND WHAT IS IT YOU ARE HIDING ANYWAY ? YOUR MARRIAGE TO SPIKE BIGHORN ? NOPE PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THAT. THE FACT THAT YOU ARE PREGNANT ? NOPE PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THAT. MUST BE SOMETHING WAY WORSE…LIKE THE FACT YOU SHOULD NOT BE IN CHARGE OF NATIVE AMERICAN SCHOOLS ? OR WORSE ??? NATIVE VOICES CAN AND WILL BE HEARD.

Before I form any sort of opinion I would like to hear some of the “truth” of which ohhappyday claims to have knowledge. (So far I have received a quote from a Jack Nicholson movie). I have a feeling that all I will receive is a “mind your own business” or perhaps another baseless and evasive “I know and you don’t so nanninanninanni!!!” type of response.

My posting of the movie quote was poking fun at ohhappyday’s claim that we would think different. In the movie the character didn’t think that people could handle the truth, when in reality they can.

To be honest, I’m not worried about the people who say the emperor has no clothes. I’m worried more about the administrators and managers who keep telling me not to worry about it.

I must admit I was confused how someone so lightly qualified could have made it to into a program like the Senior Executive Services. After a little research, I discovered that the Agency is the one who reviews candidates. The only way, with her qualifications someone could get nominated was if Birdwell had managed to become a member of what in the BIA used to be known as the “Good Ole’ Boys” club.

How could a social worker with no education administration background get through the Agency review? It didn’t make sense to me at first, until someone told me that she was the daughter of Justice Dwight Birdwell. So, it was the “Good Ole’ Boys” club just taking care of one of their own. An example of hiring a friend’s barely competent child, ala George W. Bush. Combine this with her sexual relationship with the Chief of Staff and at last, all is revealed.

I agree with Haskellnews, if we are investigating people, maybe they should start with possible charges of violations of Merit Promotion Principles, Favortism, and Nepotism with the appointment of Ms. Birdwell.

  3. We don’t know.

    Obviously we have.

We think it is awful that in The United States of America a government employee would / could do this and /or put a gag order on Federal Native American Employees.

For centuries Native Americans have handed down stories as a way to maintain their culture. We can only hope that Stephanie Birdwell-Bighorn does not try and gag those stories also.
